Room Temperature and relative Productivity Calculator

This calculator is based on a formula derived from the statistical analysis of 24 research studies (office studies and laboratory studies that simulated office work, and 3 studies in classrooms) that have assessed the average relationship between temperature and work performance. The following calculator gives a best estimate of how temperature will affect office work performance. The calculator will yield maximum relative performance when the air temperature is approximately 71 °F. As the indoor air temperature rises above or falls below 71 °F, work performance decreases.

Type the room air temperature below in the yellow box then click the Update Button.
This formula only applies between 59 deg F and 89 deg F.
The relative productivity (0 to 1) for that temperature is calculated.
