Ergonomic Considerations for Left-handed People

Some things to think about concerning handedness in the office environment:

  1. Choose a mouse that has a symmetrical design so that it can be used by left or right hands, or a mouse specifically for a left-handed person.
  2. Choose a keyboard tray system (e.g. Humanscale) that has an interchangeable left/right mousing surface.
  3. Use a left-handed keyboard for left handed workers (numeric keypad is on left).
  4. Position the phone, documents etc. on left for left handed people.
