Homing Experiment: Keyboard and Mouse Use

NOTE: This will only work in Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers!

Keyboarding and Mousing Experiment Setup Instructions:

Homing Experiment Setup Instructions

  1. When you click on the link below to start the task you can either accept the default values in the start screen or type in your own values and then click on the "Start" button.
  2. Type in the number of trials (must be >=4)
  3. Press start button

Task Steps: Step 1: Click on highlighted blue bar with mouse

Step 2: Type the text in the highlighted box

Step 3: Go back to Step 1

Task Instruction: Click within the blue highlighted target rectangle as quickly and accurately as possible to start, then type the word, then click on the blue rectangle, then type the word.

Output

The output is the time in milliseconds for each of the the following (all times are in milliseconds):

The two numbers in the parentheses are respectively mean/average and standard deviation of the samples for each measure.

Saving your Output

There are two ways to save your output:
(1) save the page as HTML file after a task is finished
(2) select the table, copy, and paste into excel after a task is finished
