Biomedical or Human Factors Engineer

The Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC) is seeking applications for an experienced Biomedical or Human Factors Engineer to join the Industrial Engineering Division at the Warner Robins, Georgia, facility. Duties of the position include analysis and design of jobs, activities, and industrial environments to address ergonomic and rehabilitative needs. Duties may also include modeling of mechanical and human factor interface systems, designing and implementing equipment for ergonomic accommodation, and interaction with a wide variety of customer agencies.

Experience in task analysis, ergonomic analysis, and assistive technology evaluation processes is desired. Applicant should have extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly with respect to disability and musculoskeletal disease processes. Good mechanical engineering design skills and experience using computer aided software, such as Mechanical Desktop and Solid Works, preferred. Must have working knowledge of Excel, Access and Microsoft Project. U.S. citizenship is required. Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD security clearance.

Education: Requires an undergraduate degree in engineering (biomedical or human factors preferred) and 3 years related experience or a Masters degree in the same area and 1 year related experience; or Ph.D. degree in the same area; or no degree and 12 years related engineering experience.
