We are looking for an experienced User Interface Engineer to work in our fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will be responsible for developing user interface models, defining user interface design standards and producing non-functional prototypes. This individual will define the user experience for a new breed of systems for both the companies’ internal and external customers. The new breed of systems will be developed in a distributed environment utilizing J2EE technologies over a 5 to 7 year period. The User Interface Engineer will collaborate with Business Process Engineers, Business Analysts and the user community to engineer an effective user experience. The User Interface Engineer will also collaborate with J2EE Developers, Technical Writers and Test Engineers to ensure user interfaces are implemented correctly within the production environments. Prospective candidates should have experience in leading large scale integration and re-engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

·   Design user interfaces for web-enabled and desktop applications

·   Define and maintain user interface standards

·   Develop non-functional prototype models

·   Collaboration with BPE/BA’s and end users to define user interfaces

·   Collaboration with J2EE developers to ensure effective implementation of user interfaces

·   Collaboration with Test Engineers to define methods for testing user interfaces

·   Attend workshops/training to stay current with industry trends

Qualifications:

·   Minimum of 2 years experience as a User Interface Engineer/Designer

·   Experience with large scale enterprise business application UI design

·   Experience working with business customers

·   Experience working with Business Process Engineers/Business Analyst in turning customer requests into concrete requirements

·   Expert knowledge of usability and user-centric design techniques

·   Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills

·   Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where multiple on-going projects with hard deadlines are the norm

·   Must be able to use initiative to solve on the job problems

·   Understanding of distributed computing, J2EE a plus.

·   Background in insurance company would be a plus
