Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Under direction the
Health & Wellness Specialist develops, implements and maintains an on-site
health and wellness resource center for Facilities Management. Researches
and develops safety training programs for custodial, grounds, skilled
trades and professional staff. Responsible for the preparation of training
and wellness materials for department.
Minimum Requirements Knowledge to recognize, evaluate and control
occupational ergonomic problems to minimize sprain/strain and overuse
injuries.
Public speaking and training experience. Excellent organizational skills,
ability to work with a broad range of employees.
Database management and computer skills for efficient implementation of
database software, in preparing training materials for database software
implementation and employee care.
Analytical skills for preparation of reports and program assessment.
Organizational skills to maintain a smooth flow of employee care while
performing multi-tasking for a variety of programs/projects.
Possession of a degree in a health related field. Must be able to work
varying schedules, with changing work priorities, work with computer and
work effectively under pressure.
Desirable Requirements Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise
and Sports Science, Occupational, Health & Safety, Health Science, Human
Performance or related fields, or equivalency and 5 years of experience
preferred. Prefer English-Spanish bilingual (or willing to take Spanish 1 &
2 courses within first year).
