POSITION DESCRIPTION

Our company is seeking a talented, confident, and motivated person to help clients achieve "success through usability."

A Usability Specialist will be expected to assist in all aspects of the User Centered Design (UCD) process for applications and consumer products. This will include design, usability testing and cognitive analysis. The Usability Specialist will be expected to create testing protocols, analyze data, build detailed prototypes, practice sound experimental methodology, perform moderation, prepare and present findings, write standards and user manuals.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the end-user experience, new technologies and will be able to work on challenging design problems and propose solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

>> Prototype and design of screens or web pages using appropriate design tools.
>> Work with product development teams to develop test questions for usability studies.
>> Analyze data, write reports, and provide recommendations (as well as deliver overall user-interface design expertise) to clients.


QUALIFICATIONS

>> Knowledge of current usability research, theories, and methodologies
>> Understanding of interface design principles
>> Possess effective written and verbal communication skills (writing samples required)
>> Exhibit effective interpersonal skills
>> Posses expertise in facilitation techniques
>> Ability to think interactively
>> Ability to work in teams
>> Ability to solve problems
>> Ability to think creatively in stressful situations
>> Project management skills
>> 1-2 years of usability experience
>> Experience with HTML, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator is helpful.

Education

>> An advanced degree in behavioral science, human factors, or human computer interaction is required.

Expected travel: < 40%.
