HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEERING INTERN POSITIONS

SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT CORPORATION

STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT

Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation anticipates having Human Factors/Ergonomics intern positions available in their Avionics/Crew Station Design Group in early 2003.

One internship would begin in January 2003 and end in May or August, depending on applicant availability and schedule. The other is a summer intern position with employment commencing in May and ending in August 2003.

These positions offer an excellent opportunity for students to gain real-world human factors engineering experience in the design and development of complex systems, namely current and future helicopter cockpits. As an intern, you will be part of the human factors team and, therefore, work with a variety of disciplines within the Corporation to develop and implement user-centered design requirements. Specific areas of involvement may include hardware design, operator accommodation, multifunction displays, primary flight displays, tactical internet and digital maps.

The successful candidate will be enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in Human Factors Engineering or other related program with major emphasis in human factors/ergonomics.

Applicants are responsible for their own lodging and transportation while employed at Sikorsky.
