Ergonomics Engineer

Background/Job Description:
The Machine Concepts and Design section is in need of an individual to support the ergonomics program.  The position involves responding to questions, completing projects, developing ergonomic tools and procedures, and supporting the ergonomic program objectives.  The business units with vehicle design control, the regulations group, and the corporate ergonomics group sponsor many of the ergonomic projects.  The candidate must posses the skills to assume project leadership, and interact with external research organizations, business unit project engineers, and program managers.  In this position, the candidate must communicate ideas precisely to a broad audience, and create working partnerships with business units.

Highly Desired Characteristics:

The candidate must have an ergonomics degree or substantial equivalent experience. 

It is highly desired that the candidate have experience with operator assessments and virtual modeling.  Experience with operator assessment in construction equipment is advantageous. 

The desired candidate is self-motivated, passionate about applying new technologies, and able to create future design tools while concurrently resolving current issues. 

Desired Characteristics:

The candidate must also possess the aptitude for leadership, teamwork, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and organize projects. They will possess strong technical ability, communicate succinctly, and demonstrate high personal work standards.
