American Institutes for Research (Concord, MA) is seeking:

  1. recent graduates who want to become proficient in the tools and methods of usability engineering and
  2.  mid to senior level human factors professionals who wish to join a fast-paced and supportive consulting practice.

We are contracted by major high-tech companies to conduct research on product usability, including evaluation and user interface design. (See www.air.org--The New England Office) Working closely with senior staff, candidates will contribute to all aspects of usability engineering efforts, including planning & conducting usability tests; designing and prototyping user interfaces; contributing to research reports, and communicating with clients.

Mid to senior level candidates can be expected to manage projects and to set the direction of usability, design, and consumer research, and to apply their technical expertise accordingly.

Interested candidates should have backgrounds in any area of human factors, cognitive or experimental psychology, or industrial, graphic, or product design. Applicants should have demonstrated superior performance in courses, projects, or internships, have excellent communication skills, be able to meet deadlines, and be able work well in a supportive, but often high-pressured, environment.
