Environmental Illness
Environmental Illness
- Many terms are used to define an “illness” that apparently is induced by exposure to environmental chemicals. These include environmental illness (EI), environmental allergy, total allergy syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity, and 20th century disease
- EI is supposed to be a results of chemical damage to the immune system
- Numerous studies have found that there is no physical evidence of any changes in immune function in those who believe that they are suffering from EI
- There is good evidence that EI cases have a history of psychological and psychiatric dysfunction
