- Persons in areas with new carpet reported increased frequency of sore throat, dry throat, and hoarseness
- Perception of dustiness was the most powerful variable associated with many of the health, comfort, and odor concerns
- Glare affected complaints of headache, eye irritation, fatigue, difficulty concentrating and pain
- Psychosocial factors (heavy workload, conflicting job demands) were significantly associated with many health symptoms
- Perceived chemical sensitivity was significantly associated with odors of paint, photocopying, tobacco smoke, and carpet
