Dilution Ventilation Limitations
Dilution ventilation doesnít work well when outdoor air is more polluted than indoor air (e.g. pollen, fungi, smoke, smog, traffic fumes)
Dilution ventilation doesnít work well when the ventilation system itself is contaminated (e.g. biological contaminants in the air handler, ducts, fiberglass)
Dilution ventilation is slow to respond to acute exposure situations (e.g. ETS)
Dilution ventilation is normally tied to thermal comfort issues
