Hospital Ergonomics

Ergonomic issues in hospitals are a major concern. The department has initiated several major studies in healthcare settings. Here is a selection of the work conducted to date.

The following projects were undertaken as part of the DEA4700/6700 class in the spring semester of 2003. The class worked with a local major heathcare provider in one of their hospitals, and 5 types of hospital work were studied. The following projects were undertaken as part of the DEA4700/6700 class in the spring semester of 2004. The class worked on the emergency room, radiology and laboratory ergonomics. All files are .pdf downloads.

The following project was undertaken as part of the DEA4700/6700 class in the spring semester of 2007. The class conducted a radiology workplace assessment survey. The file is a .pdf download.
